GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION
Description of Paints
Paints are liquid or semi-liquid substances that are applied to surfaces such as walls, wood, metal, and concrete. When applied and allowed to dry, paints form a thin protective and decorative coating on the surface.
Paints are mainly used in building construction to protect surfaces from damage and to improve appearance. They protect materials from weather effects such as rain, sunlight, moisture, rust, and decay. At the same time, paints add color, beauty, and a smooth finish to buildings.
Paints are commonly applied using brushes, rollers, or spray machines. After application, the liquid part of the paint evaporates, leaving a solid film firmly attached to the surface.
In general building construction, paints are used on interior and exterior walls, doors, windows, roofs, and metal structures to increase durability and enhance the life span of the building
